Cermet Inc

Cermet has been selected by the Department of Energy (DOE) to develop Utlraviolet Light Emitting Diodes (UV LEDs) for next generation lighting. In this development effort, Cermet will develop nitride based UV LEDs on Cermet's bulk aluminum nitride at specific emission wavelengths. The Department of Energy is investing in UV LED technology to accelerate the implementation of solid state lighting. UV LEDs and Solid State Lighting are used for traffic, automotive, aviation, display, and general lighting applications. LED based lighting solutions have higher power efficiencies compared to traditional incadescent sources and generate substantial energy savings.
